This post brought to you by Vipre. All opinions are 100% mine.Your data is important. Your choice in anti-virus software should be too. For those of you who don’t already know, my business partner Douglas has been in the computer repair and sysadmin (systems administration) field for 20+ years. Part of this line of work includes virus and malware removal. The top anti-virus/anti-malware product that he recommends to all of his clients is Vipre. We use it for all of the computers in our home office and love it!
So when Vipre Internet Security contacted me to do a product review, I was elated. This is a product that I’m very familiar with, and can personally vouch for from three to four years of experience using the top virus protection available.
Some Background
I’ve previously tried many of the free programs such as AVG and Avast. There was even a time when I used Norton, which I consider a pretty bloated application which has a tendency to slow a system down.
What really made me say enough is enough was four years ago when I had a netbook get a virus infection while running AVG. As soon as it happened I caught it, but it still infected another computer of mine running AVG on our network. My partner Douglas wasn’t too happy about that. The darn virus had code in it to specifically target and rewrite the AVG files!!! It was at this time that he politely ::cough:: requested for me to switch to Vipre Internet Security. He said that it is the best virus protection software available.
More recently we had a client drive 1 1/2 hours to our business with his laptop, so my partner could do a virus removal on his system that had McAffee installed. McAffee did not stop the virus that this guy got. After my partner kept the laptop overnight to use diagnostic tools and remove the virus/malware, he recommended Vipre Internet Security to our client. Our client hasn’t had another virus/malware problem since.
My Vipre Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware Installation & User Experience
Vipre Internet Security was a breeze to download. It literally took about 8 seconds for me to have the installer on my laptop. Once I ran the installer and entered the license key, it took almost exactly 10 minutes to finish the installation process.
Once Vipre Internet Security installed, I took a peek under the hood at the settings interface. It’s quite intuitive and easy to use. Despite being packed with advanced security features, everything you need access to is very well placed and easy to find.
The antivirus scan happened so fast I didn’t even know it! I was running quite a few tabs in my browser and had Photoshop CS6 on a dual core laptop with no apparent lag whatsoever. I peeked around the interface a bit more just to check to see where everything is. I can’t say enough good things about the way everything is layed out. There’s a scan options tab, active protection tab, email protection tab, a tab for power settings etc.
There have been times in the past where I have consulted my partner to help me configure anti-virus settings on other programs because I just couldn’t easily find what I needed. Sometimes when I’m on the road and using my wi-fi hotspot, I have to turn things off to save bandwidth. The area for this is super easy to find.
With Vipre Internet Security I don’t feel like an idiot, because I can tweak my custom settings myself!
So with Vipre Internet Security, I get the assurance of the best antivirus software money can buy, no system lag, AND a super easy to use interface. I’ve been running this software for 3-4 years now, and have never gotten a virus! This is a product I can totally vouch for. Check out Vipre Internet Security today!
