I got them downloaded and copied it to my layer styles folder but i cant seem to find it in photoshop. (I have PSE10 on Mac) any help would be appreciated

Do you know where to find the layer styles or are they not registering? I'm not super familiar with PSE 10. I did find this however:

        Choose Window→Effects.

Select the Layer Styles button at the top of the Effects panel.

Select your desired library of styles from the drop-down menu in the upper-right area of the panel

        Hope this helps!!

Hi Su! Thank you for this link. I am unsure how to use/install the png ornaments, could you please let me know what I should be doing? Using PSE 9. Familiar with some things. Are the png ornaments considered actions?

      • Susan Smith November 21, 2013 7:57 pm

An ornament is a decorative shape. The images are transparent PNG which means you can add them as a layer in a photoshop project. So you'd basically open one of the textures and then drag one of the png ornaments on top of the chalk board texture and move it where you want. Hopefully that makes sense.

Makes perfect sense, thank you! I had actually done that, but thought maybe I was supposed to load it or something. Thanks again! This is truly a great find!

How do you open the zip file? I have a mac.

    11. Autumn January 9, 2014 1:24 am

There's an instruction to install .abr brushes, but there are no .abr brushes in the download file?

      • Susan Smith January 9, 2014 8:44 pm

Hi Autumn, I keep those instructions in the download file just in case there ends up being brushes, shapes, etc. It's just easier for me to grab the whole folder when I put the download together. If you want to turn them into brushes just right click on the layer, do a color overlay layer style of black and then go Edit>Define Brush Preset. If you have a Photoshop version older than CS6 you will need to make sure the image is 2500px or less.

Then the item will be in your brush presets. Hope that helps!

I have a mac, and am having a hard time following the instructions. I don't see any .csh files?

      • Susan Smith June 23, 2014 4:16 pm

They are styles which are .asl. The instructions for custom shapes are similar. I am not sure if I have an styles installation tutorial yet, so if you just follow along and assume that I mean .csh instead of .asl. Also the folder inside presets will be called "styles".

Can I use them for Commercial Use? please reply, thanks for sharing. You rock!! <3
