I am very excited to be a guest blogger today for Star Sunflower Studio!! Su very graciously invited me to give a blog post and my choice today is about one of my favorite flowers, the viola flower or otherwise known as Johnny Jump-ups. I’ve been having fun with Johnny Jump-ups, putting them in delicate containers and displaying them all around my house. I’ve been giving them as gifts, too. My sister and I have a craft blog together called Two Succulent Sisters.
Here are the pretty Viola flowers I bought at a garden show a few weeks ago. Love ’em!
And I found a cute little milk pitcher…
And this lemon jug I bought at a tag sale a few years ago…
I had to put some stones in the bottom of the containers for drainage before putting in the soil. Then I just plopped the root ball into the container. I really like the way they turned out and they last longer than cut flowers.
I put them in little groups for different pictures. I kinda like these 2 together.
But my favorite is the lemon jug.
Here they are on my dining table. So Springlike!
Looking for creative ways to display the little Violas has been so much fun for me. I have another few ideas on what to plant these flowers in and hope to get a post on my blog about those soon. They lend themselves so nicely to delicate glassware crockery because of their petite size and sweet faces. Don’t you think? I’ll bet you could find lots of pretty things to put Violas in also. It’s so rewarding and very little work. Hope you enjoyed this post and thanks to Su for inviting me.
Happy Spring, everyone.
